Accelerator Media has announced a deal with
AdMob, the world's largest mobile advertising marketplace, to sell their targeted
CPC and CPM advertising services on AdMob's mobile network.
Moving into the mobile market allows Accelerator to add a new set of targeting parameters to advertisements, such as which model or brand of phone someone is using or the network they are on, to create focused advertising campaigns and offer advertisers massive mobile reach in the UK market.
The interest in, and use of, mobile advertising is on the rise,
comScore recently acquired M:Metrics - a leader in measuring mobile web usage - which will allow the online researchers to track mobile internet behaviour and clickable ads.
AdMob opened a new office in London recently to expand their European operations, Russell Buckley - the managing director of AdMob Europe, said:
"European ad requests, particularly in the UK, are steadily increasing. Our latest figures reveal that ad requests, driven by the adoption of next generation handsets and increased mobile web usage, grew by two per cent from March to April to 196,888,707 in the UK alone."
The increased use of internet browsing on mobile phones - thanks to nifty hardware such as the iPhone,
Apple recently announced its new iPhone and MobileMe service, and other smartphones - means we can expect to see more such deals in the near future as companies make their adverts mobile.
