Affiliate Window bought by partnership that owns Zanox

Digital Window Ltd (the holding company for Affiliate Window, one of the UK's leading affiliate networks) today announced that European media companies Axel Springer and PubliGroupe have bought a 50.1% stake in its business. Interestingly, these two companies already own Zanox, another affiliate network which has extensive reach into European markets.

Dr. Mathias Döpfner, CEO of Axel Springer commented on the company blog: "The investment in Digital Window will enable us to continue on a course of dynamic growth in the business of performance-based online marketing. As announced, the clear focus of our investment strategy is to continue expanding our digital business. That applies both to our own brands and also to further complementary acquisitions, as in the case of Digital Window."

This move will undoubtedly further strengthen the position of Affiliate Window, building on its recent Affiliates4u award wins and the exciting technological developments which have been released recently, including tidd.ly, video banners and Darwin - developments welcomed by affiliates, agencies and merchants alike. Affiliate Window continues to gather new acquisitions in spite of the recession, with recent new client wins including The Hut (whose affiliate programme used to run on the Tradedoubler network), Clarks, Topman, Swarovski and Nike.

The partnership with the owners of Zanox will give UK-focussed Affiliate Window the opportunity to expand outwith the UK, bringing opportunities for both affiliates and merchants. Affiliate Window's current CEO, Kevin Brown, will continue to manage the company - meaning that the current successful strategy and core values of the network can be expanded into wider markets and, possibly, replicate its success in the UK affiliate marketing arena.
