FASTSearch outlet Alltheweb has added new advanced search filters to it's popular
search engine.
www.alltheweb.com now allows users to filter search results not only by language, but also by domain suffix. For example, French users who are not interested in Canadian content can search for sites on ".fr" domains only, UK users on ".uk" and so on.
"Spanish people don't always want to get Latin American content, French people don't always want to get Canadian content, and vice versa," said Tim Myer, Fast's VP of web search.
Alltheweb has added other filters that allow users to specify how deep in a site pages must be to appear in their search results.
It also now shows relevant body text from the pages found, rater than the meta description, although this will still have an impact on ranking.
