Android taking on a Chrome tint

Android taking on a Chrome tint Only a few days after the launch of Google Chrome, the open source browser released was in beta this week, it has now been announced that Android will be adopting much of Chrome's inner workings. With the browser becoming an overnight sensation, it seems that Google hopes to have the same effect on the mobile market.

At the Chrome launch event. Google co-founder Sergey Brin said that he expects that much of the Chrome technology will make its way into Android. One improvement that he hinted at was JavaScript in the subsequent version of Android. This should hopefully boost the popularity of the mobile operating system considering the release-related setbacks it has suffered over the past few months.

Although the two projects were being developed separately, now that they are both approaching 1.0 release it is expected that they will be working a lot more closely. Sergey Brin went on to say that he expects the mobile browser to be given a new name to indicate the relationship to its original full blown source. Chrome-lite anyone?

Hopefully this will be another mobile browser to add to the currently small list that ease the pain of sometimes unsatisfactory mobile browsing experiences.
