Banging The Drum at bigmouthmedia

It would appear that the majority of people working in the marketing industry in Scotland are perfectly happy with their lot.

In a recent survey carried out by The Drum magazine in search of "The Best Places to Work" among Scottish marketing agencies, Bigmouthmedia scored well, coming second overall out of five in the Medium Agencies (11-21 staff) category, and first for, amongst others, Job Satisfaction and staff Commitment & Satisfaction.

The survey posed statements to which staff responded by rating them from 1 = strongly disagree to 5 = stongly agree. Of the 300 who took part via confidential e-mail, most believe in their organisation's goals, enjoy their jobs, get plenty of support from their bosses, and feel justly rewarded for their efforts.

Because of the differences in culture, the agencies were divided into three categories - large (21+ staff), medium (11-20) and small (-10). In the medium category, Bigmouthmedia scored top marks for its staff's perception of the organisation as a caring, fun place to work, in their overall job satisfaction, and in their commitment to the organisation.

BMM staff also scored well for indicating their efforts are recognised and rewarded fairly, and for showing confidence in the organisation's management.

Steve Leach, bigmouthmedia MD, stated "It is vital to have good relations amongst all employees. It creates a better atmosphere. Staff will go out on a limb for you if they know you will do the same for them. It's also important to have fun."
