Bing Webmaster Centre blog writer, Rick DeJarnette, has parted ways with Bing in a shakeup resulting from plans over a new webmaster blog.
Bing recently re-launched its Webmaster Centre, and revamping of its Webmaster Blogs appears to be another step in the game of catch-up that Microsoft is playing with
Google.
Rick DeJarnette - who, like Microsoft's
search engine in general, has often been overshadowed by his
Google counterparts - has been a valuable source of information and insight for SEOs and
webmasters over the last two years, often supplying additional snippets of information not provided by
Google, or more in-depth information that was difficult to find elsewhere.
DeJarnette has been using Twitter to announce his departure, stating that the parting is amicable. It would appear he is looking to continue working as an SEO/tech writer, so expect to read more from him soon.
Yahoo announced last month that it now has concrete plans to
integrate more closely with Bing Webmaster Centre. Once all markets are being served, they say, Yahoo's Site Explorer tool will be 'refined,' and users should start to use Bing's Webmaster Centre instead.
The revamping of Bing's Webmaster Blogs is likely to be another step in the path in the integration of the two
search engines.
