CNN accused of search engine

In a novel twist on Google bombing, Nick Lewis at smartcampaigns.com has accused CNN of deliberately posting messages to his and other blogs which are critical of CNN in order to get their Google ranking reduced or even filtered out altogether.

Lewis claims CNN posted messages with titles such as "Televisions Great Orifice", with the intention of tripping Google purience filter on his website and reducing his ranking in listings. Similarly, he has accused CNN of posting press releases and other content on blogs with a positive spin on CNN in order to boost their positions for CNN related keywords.

Lewis claims he caught CNN in the act, using a carefully laid trap to capture an IP address associated with CNN. CNN have refused to comment.
