The event, held at the Guanabara nightclub in London last week, saw Polly Gowers, CEO of Everyclick accept the award. She commented:
"We are extremely happy to have won this award. It is great to be recognised by the digital world and it makes all the hard work worthwhile. The team has gone above and beyond the call of duty to get Everyclick up and running, so this award is a great acknowledgement of what they've put into it."
Everyclick impresses the judges at the awards with their innovative approach to search: the search engine, partnered with Ask, ensures that users can donate to charity every time they search using the site. The judges commented on the ability of Everyclick to harness the power of the Web to help good and honest causes, whilst incurring no expense for any of the charities involved.
Everyclick currently targets over 170,000 charities in the UK and allocates 50 per cent of its gross revenue to charity each month. Every charity receives a sum equivalent to the proportion in which its supporters use the website. The company has helped raise funds for over 4,500 charities and that number is growing daily.
The everyclick.com site strongly encourages companies, schools and individuals alike to take part in their unique free service to benefit a chosen charity instantly. Having formed strong partnerships with the likes of eBay UK, 3 Mobile and the AA, they recently expanded the functionality of the engine to include a new travel service through which users can compare and contrast flights, hotels car and hire packages deals from over 600 airlines, 150,000 hotels and 30,000 car rental sites worldwide.
With over 27 million searches made since its launch in June 2005, everyclick.com has continued to attract a range of companies, schools and organisations to an ever increasing volume of individual searchers - the latest figure reaching some 50,000 supporters. One can expect that Everyclick will achieve even more success in the future with its winning formula: the fusion of a highly flexible search engine with a comprehensive charity focus.
