It's database is currently fed by FAST, who also serve Lycos and AllTheWeb, among others. Whether this is a permanent arangement, or whether the Excite spider will be similarly resurrected remains to be seen.
For those who remeber the collapse of Infoseek.com a couple of years ago, this may all seem a little familiar. Infoseek never regained the ground it lost during its difficult times. Tiscali will be hoping that Excite's brand does not suffer the same fate.
