Facebook captures dim-witted thief An idiot and alleged burglar leaves himself logged into Facebook on victim's computer.

The Martinsburg Journal has the scoop on the incident. Police responded to a phone call from the victim late in August to deal with the burglary in which the thief had entered through the bedroom window.

Two diamond rings worth more than $3,500 had been taken from a cabinet in the same room as the computer. The victim later noticed that not only had the alleged burglar been using her computer, and had logged into Facebook but that he apparently forgotten to sign out of the social network.

An investigation revealed that the victim and suspect had friends in common and on the night before the incident the suspect, Jonathan Parker, 19, of Fort Loudoun, had canvassed friends to see whether they wanted to help break into the targets house.

Mr Parker is currently in custody with a $10,000 bail price tag. If he is convicted then he could face up to 10 years in jail.
