Froogle Fright!

The Froogle shopping search engine gets spooky!
The shopping search engine, Froogle, is gearing up for the Halloween shopping boom. Google, already famous for its doodles, has given its major search engine brand extension a spooky logo.

Both Froogle.com and the newly launched Froogle.co.uk are modelling a wicked witches hat, Jack-o'-lantern, bats and web. The web is our favourite here at bigmouthmedia. Halloween is a huge shopping holiday in the States and pretty significant in the UK. Affiliates have been prepped for months and commercial search listings are full of Halloween related sales.

The British front page of Google's main search engine is not currently promoting Froogle. The shopping database is not mentioned in the link tabs above the search box (but Desktop search is). The strapline below the search box highlights the Google Search Appliance which is available to UK companies for the first time. (http://www.google.co.uk / enterprise / )

The lack of Froogle advertising on Google.co.uk is probably due to the sheer weight on the shopping extension. In the pre-launch stage select agencies and companies like bigmouthmedia could expect an extremely quick turn around from Froogle support, these days, with the doors officially open, replies from the search engine can take days.
