Internet giant Google has lost one of its executives to Facebook for the second time in a month. Under the reshuffle, Ethan Beard, who was a director of social media at Google, is moving to the social networking site.
Facebook is currently in the process of bolstering its management in an effort to increase its advertising revenues.
In an email, Google spokesman Jon Murchinson wrote: "While Ethan will be missed, we have the internal expertise necessary to execute on our goals."
Mr Beard has held a number of high-profile positions over the years, having served as director of business development for MTV/VH1 Interactive.
He has also worked for Silicon Alley Venture Partners, Fountainhead Capital and Bank of America and holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and New York University's Stern School of Business.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Sheryl Sandberg, former vice president of global online sales and operations at Google, had moved to Facebook to become its chief operating officer.
According to a Bloomberg report, prior to appointing Mr Beard and Ms Sandberg, Facebook made a number of other high-profile hires, for example recruiting Gideon Yu, former chief financial officer at the Google-owned video-sharing site YouTube.
Mr Yu, who was appointed by Facebook in July last year, operates as the company's chief financial officer.
Meanwhile, in the same month, Chamath Palihapitiya, a former head of AOL's instant-messaging business, was taken on by the social networking site as its vice-president of product marketing and operations.
