Google partners with Channel Intelligence

Google partners with Channel Intelligence Internet commerce firm Channel Intelligence has announced it is now a designated Google Product Search Partner.

The deal comes after Google deemed the company to meet its required standards "for integrating product data feeds into Google Product Search".

Previously known as Froogle, Google Product Search brings together buyers and sellers over the internet, presenting users with the results of products for sale.

Channel Intelligence has already been involved in providing data feeds to Google's product searching feature on behalf of retail clients, but is now a participant in the launch of its new partner programme.

Michael Nunez, publisher evangelist at Channel Intelligence, commented: "Our proprietary technology and extensive experience providing high-quality data feeds ideally positions us to help retailers enjoy success in Google Product Search and we are proud to be designated as a Google Product Search Partner."

"Now the Google Product Search Partner programme defines standards for providers submitting data on behalf of clients," he added.

Google Product Search was initially launched under the name of Froogle in December 2002.

It is a price comparison service that allows users to enter product queries and receive lists of vendors who sell that product, as well as pricing information.

Google does not charge fees for listings or receive commission on sales for the service, which finally became known as Google Product Search in April of this year.
