Google has been searching for some time for a way to step onto new search platforms and Sony Ericsson is, naturally, more than happy to team up.
Currently, a service is in beta stage in the US and in seeks to let XHTML enabled mobiles directly access information from their handsets. International release of this service is speculated to occur later this year.
The next stage of 'Search on the Go' is pre-loading phones with blogging software and mobile search tools - providing access to search and the Google-owned Blogger site. Sony Ericsson handsets to feature this upgrade, in the second quarter of this year, will be the K610 UMTS phone and the newly launched K800 and K790. These phones will launch a separate Google web search option using a single keystroke, without the need for a new web page.
This news follows a similar announcement from Vodafone and Google to integrate services under the Vodafone Live! brand.
Blogger access and Google Web Search on Sony Ericsson handsets is sure to provide a completely new experience for consumers.
