Google in Olympic Spirit

Search engine giant Google have entered into the spirit of the Olympic Games by using a specially commissioned icon on their search homepage. The image, depicting Greek gods and the Olympic torch under the backdrop of the Parthenon commemorates the games currently under way in Athens. The move is the latest in what is becoming a habitual display of specially designed icons to mark special occasions. In recent history, Google have commissioned icons to commemorate Independence Day, Bastille Day, Christmas and Halloween. The icon will remain for the three week duration of the Athens games.
