Having launched Docs and Spreadsheets at last year's Office 2.0 Conference, some commentators believe Google may be set to release new Wiki and presentation applications in the next couple of days, PC World reports.According to the computer magazine, the search engine has confirmed that the new applications are on the way but has not yet set a date for their release.
This year's conference has already seen an announcement from the innovative company Coghead.
The firm, which specialises in tools that assist non-professionals to develop applications, has launched a set of "collaborative web applications" called Business Essentials, which includes a recruiting manager, project management, asset tracking, a company directory, activity dashboards and sales lead management.
Coghead's chief executive officer Paul McNamara said the tools "can be completely customised and people can add their own applications into their account".
Along with Coghead and several other companies, Google was involved in a discussion entitled the Death of the Application at the conference.
This week has also seen companies, including Morgan Stanley and Pfizer, discussing their experiences of introducing Enterprise 2.0 to their businesses.
The conference, held in San Francisco, is described as a "collective experiment" and takes place every year.
It aims to discover the future of online productivity and collaboration and is a unique gathering of companies, thought leaders and customers.
Attendees at this year's event will all receive either an iPhone or a PlayStation3.
