Web surfers are eagerly awaiting an announcement from the world's leading
search engine later today, when
Google is expected to officially unveil its 'live'
search engine, which updates search results as you type.
Last month, Google was spotted
testing a real-time search results page, which mirrors the way the site already predicts search queries as they are typed by delivering a results page that refreshes with each keystroke, without the need to press the enter key.
PC Pro reports that the company will today invite the press to "get an inside look at the evolution of Google search" at an event held in San Francisco. Although more specific details have not yet been revealed, the online public has already been given a big hint in the form of the latest Google Doodle.
Visiting the Google homepage presents a monochrome version of the company logo that fills in with colour as users type their search queries - reminiscent of how the new search feature will update search engine results pages (SERPs) as queries are typed.

Google's live search shows the company's determination to continue innovating its product to stay ahead of rivals like Microsoft's Bing. The Mountain View giant also recently launched a
dedicated site for Realtime Search to allow users to browse for the latest discussions and tweets from a central hub.
