Google has signed a deal with wireless broadband provider Clearwire, it has been revealed.Under the terms of the agreement, Clearwire will deliver the search engine's Google Apps communication suite to its customers.
Over the first half of the year, Clearwire will "begin migrating" its users to Gmail and Google Calendar and will also provide them with access to Google Talk, it said in a statement.
Additionally, it will use AdSense to provide Google search capabilities on future Clearwire portal applications.
Commenting on the deal, Dave Girouard, vice president and general manager of Google Enterprise, stated: "We're pleased to work with Clearwire to offer its high-speed wireless broadband customers access to our leading search and communications tools.
"Our companies share a vision of giving consumers innovative choices that will change the way they interact with each other."
Meanwhile, Clearwire's chief strategy officer Scott Richardson added that his firm is "excited" to enter into a relationship with Google, adding that both the companies are focused on providing a "simple to use, rich and open" online experience for their users.
Founded in 2003, Clearwire is a provider of wireless high-speed internet services.
It states that it is currently in the process of constructing a network "from the ground up" that "bridges the gap between today's wire line and wireless networks by delivering a ... broadband experience to a person rather than a place".
