Google accepts term 'the'

It's common knowledge that most search engines exclude certain terms, many of them prepositions, including 'the' 'an' 'web' 'site' etc. This of course, has implications for web marketers when selecting search terms but latest news is that Google have broken rank and decided to include 'the' in any search term, provided it is prefixed by +.
