Google is the world's favorite search engine

Google has held onto its position as the world's most popular search engine, according to new research from OneStat.com.

But it seems its growth rate is slowing.

Google's global usage share rose by 2.1 percent over the last two months to reach 53.2 percent.

This compares to a share rise of 4.57 percent during the months of April and May.

Yahoo is the second most popular search engine in terms of global usage share with 20.4 percent.

MSN Search's has a 9.1 percent share of the market, while Terra Lycos and AOL Search have 3.7 percent and 2.9 percent respectively.
