Ubiquitous online email service Hotmail hopes to snag some new devotees with the help of a new advertising campaign hitting London over the next three days.
Microsoft will be pushing its webmail service with the help of 'The New Busy' advertising campaign, which highlights some new time-saving features and is running on buses, black cabs and billboards around the capital.
However, the adverts will also be joined by a number of initiatives in the form of interactive areas for the public to enjoy in Golden Square, Canary Wharf and Broadgate. These areas are designed to celebrate the service's new time-saving features and will offer Londoners some quirky suggestions of what they can do with the time gained.
The events, dubbed The World of New Busy, have a chill out and viewing area with a Hotmail showcase as well as some very special areas, including a special green screen that allows guests to have unique photos taken. Also on offer will be a Health Farm - where the public can learn hula hooping, Morris dancing and iconic dance moves - and a Frivolity Fields area - where knitting, hand massage and throat singing lessons will be on offer.
Fiona Fyfe, Product Manager for Hotmail, said: "We live in a world where people seem busier than ever and we have been listening to our users to improve Hotmail, developing these time-saving features to make it the most efficient email service for busy people.
"Whether it's organising events, managing commercial transactions, searching for jobs, sharing photos, or communicating with friends and family, the new Hotmail will help increase personal productivity."
With the recession increasing workloads and pushing working hours ever higher, Hotmail's advertising campaign could be onto a winner - if busy Londoners make time to drop by, that is.
