It's a few years now since my student days, and seemingly countless nights playing pointless games where the loser has to drink a pint, and the last man standing is the one that acquires some dubious respect.

However, while doing a little research recently, I was amused to find that an Australian student has published the rules to a drinking game involving
search engines.
The rules go as follows:
Select any large number (such as the year). Each person playing the game must then initiate a search using some
search engine such as
AltaVista. Examine the number of hits each search resulted in. The one who is the furthest away from the target must take a drink. The loser's number then becomes the new target. To ensure fairness, no word can be used more than once.

search engines, published on the student homepage almost six years ago, and suprisingly still live on the UNSW servers.
