The sweepstake portal's owners have launched what they expect to be a serious competitor to Yahoo!
The new
portal, called
MyWay launched yesterday with claims that it will win over
traffic from other major portals
"We see this as a tremendous opportunity," said MyWay.com Co-CEO Bill Daugherty. "We've got all the established partnerships and we see an opportunity, particularly as it relates to disenfranchised
Yahoo! users."
With the strapline, 'No Banners, No Pop-ups - No Kidding', the site will not feature any of the less popular ad methods, such as popups, popunders and banners.
Instead, its ad revenue will come from
Google AdWords, and over the next few months, classifieds and property adverts.
Search features very heavily on the site, with index-based and image search results coming from Google and
directory searching via
ODP.
