Google drives innovation home in December
As we fly on into December we've found that the online world is speeding along in a blur of fast-paced news too. What with
Google fattening up for the winter months with a slew of new innovations and other big net names seemingly hunkering down for hibernation, the landscape is as dynamic and fascinating as ever.
Net gargantuan Google got us all in the mood last week with the annual
Google Zeitgeist, which revealed that celebrities were a hot topic with searchers all year round. However, the Mountain View giant did some soul searching of its own this December as it decided to
allow news publishers to limit free access as a response to News Corp mogul Rupert Murdoch.
But two revelations in one week were not enough for the search seraph, and the last seven days have also seen
Google announce real time search at last and real-world
Google Maps QR Code applications that will make it easier for travellers to discover additional information about landmarks.
Google wasn't the only company making waves this week though,
Yahoo! and Facebook announced an extended partnership designed to allow users to combine their activity streams while
Affiliate Window released a dynamic search widget to help people find the products they want online.
MySpace Music also continued its attempts to become the music supplier de rigeur with the UK release of MP3 streams and downloads while
BT Tradespace hopes to give small businesses a social boost with the release of version 2.0 for its network. The bigmouthmedia team also showed its social side this week with the launch of our

Not all news was good news this week though;
