March brings a slew of digital deviations to the table
As the March Hare tears through the days, you can rest assured that the online tea party is more frenetic than ever. So pour yourself a cup of char, don an elaborate hat and join the bigmouthmedia newsletter in making some sense out of the merry madness of this week's top digital news stories.
Google kicked off March on a high, as reports revealed that the search giant leads the
mobile web in the USA, despite coming in second place to Facebook on UK shores. Our favourite Mountain Viewer also
added credit cards to its Adwords Comparison Ad test, but had to swallow a bitter drop when it was revealed that the European Commission has received
competition complaints against Google.
Meanwhile, things were getting a little social elsewhere on the web, as
Yahoo! and Twitter announced a new search deal and
Facebook patented its dynamic news feed function. Rumours that Twitter is about to try a new way to
commercialise its successful microblogging site also made themselves heard this week.
The last seven days also saw yet more proof that the digital revolution continues to change the shape of our habits with reports that
online news has overtaken newspapers in the USA. And with
Dailymotion now employing the services of The Filter to better serve its video-watching users, it seems that even more of our entertainments are set to find their way online in the future.
