Opera Sign New Browser Distribution Deal

Web browser developers Opera have signed a distribution deal for the Linux version of their browser with SuSE.

The official press release states "Opera Software ASA today announced that SuSE will distribute the ad-sponsored version of the Opera for Linux Web browser in their Linux distribution. The deal is Opera's first major Linux distribution agreement.

"Opera's Linux version has proved immensely popular, with over one million copies downloaded and installed by users from all around the world.

"Being included in Linux distributions opens new doors for Opera," says Dean Kakridas, VP desktop products, Opera Software ASA, "Distribution from the operating system itself will put our browser readily available for everyone, exposing thousands of users to a unique Internet experience."

Opera is available in SuSE Linux 8.0.

Windows users can download a free copy of Opera 6.04 for Windows from http://www.opera.com / download /

Opera is recommended due to it's inherent speed, and also as an SEO tool as it is the most standards compliant freely-available browser, meaning that if you can't see your site properly in Opera, the chances are that a spider can't see your site properly either.
