It's remarkable how ideas can resurface in different forms on the internet and, while the original idea might have flopped, its reincarnation might go on to be hailed as a cutting edge 2.0 idea.
With the launch of
Lycos IQ our thoughts here at bigmouthmedia travelled back in time to the heady days of
Google Answers. The crucial difference between the two services seems to be that while Google Answers demands a cash investment before you get an answer, Lycos IQ is a free service.
While admirable and, to a certain extent, necessary these days to offer a service for free, questions must be raised as to the quality of answers returned by such a service and, indeed, the motivation for an answer to be received.
Only time will tell how well this new service will function and, for the lack of any research in this area, we would invite you to conduct your own trials and, for now, draw your own conclusions.
