PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) is planning to use online marketing to help recruit graduates and capitalise student use of new media and mobile phones. The Big Four consulting company believes that the creation of a mobile internet site will boost the number of students considering employment with the top firm and improve the range of graduates applying for positions with the company.
Using WAP technology, the unique mobile site, made up of hundreds of pages, will enable potential applicants to keep up-to-date with PwC recruitment events at universities throughout the UK during the busy graduate recruitment fair season as well as accessing information about the company and possible employment opportunities.
PwC is also hoping that a high-profile competition will further enhance the new recruitment campaign. Over the next month, students will be able to enter a prize draw to win a Mazda MX5 simply using mobile texting.
The online site will be promoted in a range of promotional materials including on-campus and off-campus distributed leaflets and via PwC's main website.
PwC has been named as the Times' Top Graduate Employer for the past three years running and is widely seen as a major recruiter of both graduates and undergraduates in the UK.
