Scots scientists unveil the blueprint for Internet Mark 2

Boffins from the National e-Science Centre (NeSC) in Edinburgh have revealed a framework that could lead the way in the development of next generation computers. The so called 'Grid' will enable global computing resources to be linked up in order to tackle some of the most significant scientific and engineering challenges around.

The future would see domestic internet users plugging into phenomenal computing capacity around the world which can be likened to taking electricity from the national grid.

By announcing this new framework NeSC have gained a favourable position in the race to develop the system. Scotland is rapidly becoming a key player in the development of new technologies attracting avid interest from the world audience.
