Identify Your Needs

If You Want to Save Money on Internet Marketing - Identify Your Needs

When establishing a web presence and setting the basis for search engine marketing the first thing to do is to properly identify your needs. If you decide not to take the time to do so, you might soon discover that the choice you made wasn't the most appropriate and that you wasted money and time. Is there anything worse for a business than that? Yes there is: not realising that you made a mistake and being left with the impression that marketing on the Internet simply can't do much for you.

You know your business better than anyone else and know that any investment has to bring an appropriate return. The first question you must yourself is "why do I need a website"? There can be any number of answers to that question:

Now that you have a number of potential answers to your question you have to know that each of them involves different marketing strategies with various degrees of complexity. For example, should you need to display your contact details on the web then all you need is a single web page. Should you need to generate leads online, however, then a complex search engine marketing strategy is required.

Pick an answer that best relates to your needs. Note that the answer needn't necessarily be one of the above mentioned, there can be many variations or combinations. Sit down and think of one that best represents you, your organisation and your needs. The answer you put on paper should be the basis of any web endeavour you may set out to do.

You shouldn't let any Internet marketing company persuade you to change your mind about your needs. However, bear in mind that companies have different ways of satisfying your needs and helping you set short and long term objectives and that's where you should be discerning in your choice.
