Fantasy football fans will rejoice in the news that two of the technology world's most recognised brands, search engine Yahoo, and microprocessor manufacturer Intel, have joined forces to launch Yahoo!SportsforTV, a new service that aims to transport the exhilaration of fantasy football to televisions that are connected to Intel Viiv technology-based PCs. Beginning this football season, consumers with entertainment PCs based on Intel Viiv technology can receive live updates on the progress of their fantasy football team while watching live football games on the same screen.

Intel Viiv PCs are designed exclusively for digital entertainment, providing efficient performance to effectively handle the running of modern multi-media applications. This new service represents a benchmark in the service they offer, and declares that new horizons in store for Yahoo!'s fantasy football league participants in the future.

Without missing any live football action, fans can check on the status of their fantasy team using a number of key features in the new service. These include:

Leagues' scores - View the progress of games across the league and chart real-time score changes.
Fantasy Football - Analyse scores across the fantasy league and updates on league standings as they happen.
My Team - Personalise your service in order to follow your favourite football teams.
Scoreboard View - Access goings-on across the football league and fantasy football scores.

Both Yahoo! and Intel express equal excitement at working with each other in the future. Marco Boerries, Senior Vice President, Connected Life, at Yahoo said:

"Together, Yahoo! and Intel have created the ultimate experience for fantasy football fans this season. We are creating truly innovative ways for fans to use the popular, interactive features of Yahoo! Sports on their TV though Intel Viiv technology, which delivers the best consumer PC experience for in-home entertainment."

As one of the world's leading search engines, Yahoo!'s fantasy football leagues have had a wide following across the globe, and this new venture looks set to increase its standing in the internet sports services sector.

Intel's Vice President, Kevin Corbett, also added, "Yahoo! and Intel have created a new entertainment experience that will take fantasy football to the next level. The combination of Yahoo! Sports for TV with Viiv technology will give avid football fans the competitive edge they need to keep on top of their game as well as their opponents. Intel looks forward to working with Yahoo! to create cool, new experiences for sports fans."

Intel Viiv entertainment PCs allow users to share a variety of media. Using a remote control-ready user interface, consumers can browse through movies, music, photos and games to create their own personalised home entertainment centre. Intel Viiv's software is widely supported by a variety of PCs and electronics manufacturers, as well as search engine service providers like Yahoo!
