Search engine pioneer Yahoo! is diversifying into the advertising, marketing and trade community in India.Yahoo! India has launched advertising.yahoo.co.in, a trade engagement initiative tailored for the Indian market.
Editorial content of the new site includes podcasts and webcasts from big names in advertising across the global stage.
It will also contain aggregate news feeds from portals as well as guest feature articles.
Director of sales at Yahoo! India, Pearl Uppal, commented: "We are happy to announce a special site dedicated to the advertising and media fraternity.
"This will help us effectively create a platform for dialogue, sharing of views, evaluation techniques and other relevant information out online advertising."
The site is intended to provide users with a look at the latest happenings in the digital industry, as well as illustrating how they can use the facility to connect with their target consumers.
Features on advertising.yahoo.co.in will include advertising campaign statistics, the latest Indian advertising industry news, a gallery with creative works from across India as well as information on Yahoo! India advertising services and key contacts.
Earlier this month Yahoo! acquired a stake in the India-based internet advertising company Tyroo Media.
The deal, which saw Yahoo! take between 35 and 50 per cent of Tyroo, was intended to allow the company to grow its business with third-party publishers in the country before it revamps its advertising system.
