Yahoo! confirmed yesterday that it has begun testing a new SERP display that incorporates additional paid listings from Overture Services.
The tests affect only the USA yahoo (yahoo.com).
Yahoo!'s SERP shows four coloured boxes to the right of each page, carrying additional sponsored links. The top of the page continues to display four Overture paid listings.
This testing further demonstrates Yahoo!'s plans to focus much of its traffic on search, as promised by Yahoo! CEO Terry Semel and demonstrated by Yahoo!'s Xmas eve purchase of Inktomi.
