Global search favourite Google and Korean electronics firm LG have revealed plans to bring popular online video sharing site YouTube to LG mobile phone handsets.Users will be able to view and upload videos directly onto YouTube.com via the handsets, which are set to be available worldwide by the end of the year.
The new YouTube-enabled LG devices will also feature a new user interface to ensure easy usage.
Google and LG's relationship is blossoming, after the search giant agreed to install its search, maps and Gmail services on LG phones in March.
YouTube co-founder Steve Chen said: "We're excited to be partnering with LG to give people the opportunity to enjoy YouTube for watching and sharing interesting moments wherever they are and whenever they want."
Dr. Skott Ahn, president and chief executive officer of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said: "This new service will connect people like never before. For the first time, LG customers will be able to film, upload and view videos on YouTube using their mobile phone just as they would be able to from their home computer.
"With this agreement, LG is continuing to drive forward wireless internet services as well as consolidate its technology leadership in the mobile industry."
The deal will enable LG to compete more fiercely with Apple in the mobile sales market, as the US IT giant has also agreed a deal with Google to offer YouTube to its iPhone users.
